OpusFest has begun!
Greetings everyone, this is James and I am the executive director of OpusFest, our webmaster came down with the flu which then turned into pneumonia so there have not been any updates in a while. While I don't know much about doing web pages, here is a quick stab at it.

Beware! The Highwayman comes to Opus
We are proud to announce that Inferno Films has just joined OpusFest. On Saturday they will be showing a pre-production trailer for the film: The Highwayman. The actors will be performing selected scenes from the film live and they will be hosting a Q&A session afterwards. This is a great chance to see some of the incredibly talented people here in Colorado. Support your community and don't miss this event!

Updates and Event Highlights Added
Online Ticketing Fixed:
There was a glitch with our Eventbrite ticketing system and some people may have received messages saying that tickets for OpusFest are no longer available. This is not the case! The issue causing this error has been resolved and you can now continue to purchase tickets for OpusFest up until March 12th. After March 12th, tickets will only be available for purchase at the door.
New Hotel Room Rate:
We've been working with the great folks over at the Red Lion and because they're just as excited about OpusFest as we are, we've been able to work out a new, lower room rate for Opus attendees. Previously, room rates for Opus were $79.00 per night (+tax) and now the new nightly room rate is $69.00! (+tax) If you already booked a room, don't worry, your room rate will automatically be adjusted to reflect the new $69.00 rate. Click on the "Hotel" link above to get information on how to book your room for OpusFest.
Guest of Honor Dinner:
We are proud to announce that we will be hosting a Guest of Honor dinner on Saturday night which will feature not just one, but all of our Guests of Honor this year! This is your chance to meet and mingle with Ilona and Gordon Andrews, Gil Bruvel, Stephen Segal, Sarah Hoyt and Voltaire! Tickets for the dinner are $65.00 per plate and seating is limited for this once in a lifetime, private event. This is an opportunity to get to know all of our Guests of Honor and enjoy a fantastic meal courtesy of the Red Lion Amberstone Grill at the same time.
NOTE: Menu options will be e-mailed to you prior to the event, so make sure to RSVP now! (Ticket price covers the cost of the entire dinner, EXCEPT for alcohol. If you would like any alcoholic beverages with your meal you must pay for those separately.)
You can now purchase your tickets for the GoH dinner when you purchase your OpusFest tickets.
Schedule Highlights Posted:
We have received many requests for the OpusFest 2009 schedule, which is still in the process of being finalized. The full schedule will be posted on the website once all the events are set, but for now, we thought we'd share some highlights from each day with you. Click on the newly added "Events" tab near the top of the page to see some of the exciting things we have planned for OpusFest in 2009!

Happy New Year and Guest Announcements
Wow! Where have we been? We are very sorry for not keeping the website up to date. There is this funny thing called Life that happened and we just could not get the webite updated on a timely basis. We hope that you all had Happy Holidays and want to wish you a Happy New Year!
So we have been busy booking guests for OpusFest and are happy to announce the following people will be Guests of Honor at OpusFest in 2009:

Musical Guest of Honor - Voltaire

Special Guest of Honor - Stephen Segal
Special "Virtual" Guest - Michael Stackpole
We are very excited about these Guests and hope that you are too. Ilona and Gordon have written some great fantasy books and have a 3rd coming out right after OpusFest. Gil Bruvel is someone who we think is an incredible Artist and if you are not familiar with his work, we think you will be blown away. By popular demand we are in negotiations to bring Voltaire back in 2009. Sarah Hoyt will be making one of a very small number of appearances this year at OpusFest as our Toastmaster, we are honored to have her on board. We are proud to bring out Stephen Segal who is the Editor for Weird Tales Magazine. Lastly, we have Michael Stackpole who will hopefully be joining us via the internet over Second Life.
We are working on adding even more people to our guest list for this year. So please keep checking back for more information.
